Covid-19 has ignited an explosion of creativity in all sorts of fields from people trapped in lockdown. One such event was UK Crime Book Club’s #UKCBCfest20 free online festival.

Held over last weekend, it featured 13 live Facebook sessions with top crimewriters including Mark Billingham, Elly Griffiths, Cally Taylor and William Shaw.

#UKCBCfest20 came about following cancellation of many regular annual events such as the Old Peculier festival in Harrogate and Crimefest Bristol.

The group’s admins did a spectacular job putting the event together in just a few weeks. UKCBC is a group of 10,000+ crimefiction fans and the festival has been so successful it may become an annual event. It has already spawned a YouTube channel where you can see all the sessions and some author readings – https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCzMNcNy2as8B52SmweINm-A/videos
