I WAS really pleased with the review of DEATH SQUAD in the books pages of the ARmy Rumour SErvice website. It said:
“Assassins and aristocracy; drugs and debauchery; murder and mayhem; pop stars and the police, all packed into some four hundred pages of action.”
“Danny Lancaster is an ex paratrooper who saw service in Afghanistan and has since tried lots of different jobs. But Danny does not like working as an employee so he sets himself up as a private detective. He operates out of a couple of rooms above a Chinese restaurant in Brighton, calling the set-up an office which he attempts to enhance by leaving a woman’s handbag on a desk in the hope that potential clients will be impressed with the fact he has a secretary/receptionist.”
“I cannot work out whether Danny is dim but lucky or a man of sufficient determination to see things through. To find out I will have to read another of the Danny Lancaster books.”
DEATH SQUAD received a 4/5 rating. Read the review at: http://www.arrse.co.uk/content/1584-death-squad-bill-todd.html
THE third Danny Lancaster crime-thriller, ROUGH DIAMOND, has received a very positive response since it was published two weeks ago. I now hope to have the fourth, ROCK HARD, out for Christmas.
DANNY is an expert in camouflage but it’s not helpful if no one sees his books.
And there seem to be three vital pillars of book promotion – reviews, reviews and reviews.
Every little helps, Facebook posts, Shares, Retweets.
And on every Amazon book page you can write a review and give the book a star rating.
Below that there are links to lively fiction discussion forums. I could go on but there are 386 different topics in the readers’ thriller fiction forum at

Obviously, it would be deeply unethical of me, even criminal, to solicit reviews. But I thought I’d just mention it in passing in case anyone fancied helping Danny out of the undergrowth and into the bestseller charts.
Just finished reading Gerald Seymour’s The Outsiders. It’s a tense, edgy, slow-motion car crash of emotions, actions and consequences. Accurate as a sniper’s bullet. Brilliant!
AND a reminder the THE WRECK OF THE MARGHERITA is still only 98p for Kindle – pages packed with action, adventure, sex and mystery and you get four of them for a penny.
