Britain’s military are understandably cheesed off by drastic cuts imposed by government.
Our forces cannot take industrial action. Yet an artillery shell escaped a firing range in Wiltshire, passing near villages before landing by a railway line. Then HMS Argyll fired a torpedo in Plymouth dockyard. It flew 200 yards through the air, slamming into a shipping container.
Brings new meaning to the phrase, “right to strike”.
Why do delivery folk think ringing the bell then immediately hammering on the door will get me there any quicker?
I have received a lovely review from a Danny Lancaster fan who has read all four of my crime thrillers in paperback. She doesn’t “do” internet so sent me a letter which I think I will frame. Here’s what she said:
“Bill Todd writes with style and intelligence. The story moves to its climax at a cracking pace that leaves scorch marks on the page and the reader gagging for more.
“The writing is clever and witty, rattling good tales that keep up the tension and excitement right through to the brilliant ending. Fast, funny and hot!
“Danny Lancaster is an inspired creation. He is the thinking woman’s action-man. Every man would want to have him as a best mate.
“The background detail is thorough and so well researched. This gives the stories their authenticity and believable quality, yet Bill Todd never lets the detail hold up the action which carries the reader along at breath-taking speed. This is story-telling at its very finest.
“Brilliant stuff, deftly told with a mischievous sense of humour. As each book ends the reader is left longing for more. The characters, main and minor, stay in the memory and you care what happens to them. All of them…”
